This place has great potential but is falling apart. Roads are a disaster after 2 days of rain - potholes and mud everywhere. Your coach and car gets covered in mud, which the campground will let you wash off yourself if you pay them $8 per day. On the 13th of March Western Horizon has introduced a new scheme that will have you part with at least $5 per day in surcharges. EACH ONE of about 8 items will cost you $4 PER DAY, itmes like f.x. cable, wi-fi, 50 amp, having a pet or extra person in your coach. They will be nice to you and sell you all items for the $5 per day, but they will charge you even before they find out if you want/need any of these services. We don't like this way of extracting money out of people for things that today should be included in your campground fee. Unfortunately there was no friendly staff to make up for the parks shortcomings. There are so many other campgrounds in Rockport so there is no reason to come here again - even if we can use our campground membership. Two newly installed oil rigs are in operation within the campground which does not add to the architecture. Treat youself - go somewhere else.

Nice intimate campground with a lot of atmosphere. You quickly get to know the other RV'ers on the site because of the famous court yard fireplace. REMEMBER!!!!: Marathon is a "one horse town" and you will do well to stock up with all your needs for the duration of your stay, or face the 32 miles drive to Alphine. The only shop in Marathon is "The French Grocer" and this is slightly larger than a camp ground store. Also - gas is expensive so make sure that your tanks are full when arriving. Had the camp ground had a pool/spa it would have been very nice and we could probably have spend a couple more nights there. We would come back to this place again.

The park has new paved roads and large gravel sites. It appears very "sterile" and lacks character. Hopefully this park will "age" quickly and get some of the charm that it deserves. We liked the friendly management. We disliked the very small and unheated pool and we very much disliked the dogs "leftovers" on all grassed areas. Dogs can run freely without a leash on this RV park, but this commits the management so that people don't have to be afraid to walk without the risk of stepping in something - you get the drift. The site is OK for a quick stop-over or a couple of days. Beyond this this park would get really boring very quickly unless you bring your own party/friends.

In general this is a nice campground, but it seems like it has a completely "invisible management". The club house, which is nice, is empty and no one use the communal facilities it would appear. People race through the campground at what appears to be close to 30 miles per hour and no one tell them to slow down. It has the potential to be a much better campground than what it is today. Members are trying desperate to sell or give away their membership which is never a good sign. "The magic" of this site is missing, unfortunately.

"Will you be breathing any of the campground air while you are here? That will be $3 per person". This is a slight dramatization of the attitude displayed by the owners of this campground. Everything you would normally get included on other campgrounds will cost you extra here. This is the first time ever that we have had to pay for metered electricity on a 30 amp hookup. If you want a 50 amp hookup you will still be metered AND pay an extra $2,50 per night for this priviledge. The campground is a glorified carpark and it is very noisy since it is right next to a very busy road. Our neighbours paid $43 for an overnight stay which is almost criminally expensive. We paid "only" $15 per night due to our Coast to Coast membership (The campground is a "Good Neighbour Park) but if you want things like Wi-Fi, cable or any of their other extras, you will soon pay way more than $15. If you want to wash any clothes while you are there, make sure that you are all done by 5pm, because then the owner/operator close the door to this facility. Next time we stop in Colorado Springs overnight we will stay at Walmart.

We had just a quick overnight stay on-route. First impression is that this is a very pleasant site where owners are trying hard to make you feel welcome. We were here very much "out of season" so we didn't get to enjoy the full benefit of what this place without a doubt has to offer, but we would definitely stop here some other time. We enjoyed a nice pull-through site with a great view out our front window.

We have been to many campgrounds all over America and we have seen some nice ones. However, this must be the best facilities that we have seen. On site winery and top class restaurant, best shower facilities and best club house. Pool was unfortunately closed since this is February but this also looked first class. Clean everywhere and friendly staff. For the first time we saw a dedicated RV washing facility with all you need of high pressure jets and brooms (we wish more campgrounds would do this). If we have to pick out anything that was missing, it has to be an outside bench for each site. If you want to see a first class operation go and see this campground.

This could be the same campground as is listet under the name Lake Havasu RV Resort, but the name of the one I am reviewing is "Lake Havasu RV Park". This park has an old section on one side of the road and a new section on the other side. We enjoyed our stay here although we would have preferred a spot in the new section. Nice clean facilities and friendly staff. Club house and pool in the new section deserves a special mention. No road noise - no trains keeping you awake at night. It's off the beaten track and still only 10 minutes from London Bridge. We would definitely come here again.

What can we say? This is one of our favorite spots and we have been here 4 times now. This place have all we need and it keeps improving all the time. Latest they have added a "pitch and put" golf course and a brand new miniature golf course. We enjoy the 2 pool and the 2 spa's, plus a very lively bar and snack area between the pools. We can't recommend this place enough and we hope to come back at some point. If you are a golfer - go try the Emerald Canyon Golf Course. Inexpensive twilight rates on a very unusual/fantastic course.

This is a mainly a very large trailer park for permanent residents. There is nothing wrong with this except this is not what we expected and not what we want when traveling. The "pioneering spirit" is just non existent, and we miss the "casual neighbor" who is traveling him/her self. There seem to be no incentive to get to know "the new guys" because everybody already has enough well known friends amongst the other permanent residents. The RV site is extremely clean. Bathrooms and showers are among the best we have seen, and the pool, hot tub and laundry rooms are in absolute perfect condition. Sites are very small. We traveled in a 40" motorhome and were struggling to back into a site. We ended up fitting in but only after having taken off our towing hitch. With the hitch attached we would be too long to fit. Our rating of 4 may in some peoples' view be unfair, but as mentioned - this type of RV park is not for us. We won't come back. Sorry!!

This appear to be a well organized campground. It is clean and tidy and both toilets and showers were cleaner than the average sites we normally visit. Pool and spa was working and in a clean condition. We had the pull-through site closest to the pool, and we unfortunately had frequent and not very pleasant odors passing our site. We will be back some other time for short stops, but we wouldn't stay here for any length of time because the surrounding area is not all that interesting, although fairly close to Quartzsite.

If this campground had sewer hook-ups it would be a perfect place to spend a couple of weeks. There is a "honey-wagon" going around, but it is a little on the expensive side. On the other hand are the rest rooms in good shape so if you use them you are OK. The Morgan Hill area is soooo pretty and well worth an extensive drive. Gilroy (20 minutes drive away) has enough shopping/outlets to make your credit card melt. Pool was closed for the season while we were there. Don't think it should have been since we had 4 days of 80 degrees. Pool should be closed according to the weather - not according to a date. We hope to be back some day.

This is an older park, but OK for a stop on-route. We had expected the park to be noisy, but this was not the case at all. Mostly, long time residents but without looking run down as most of this type of places do. Clean bath rooms and showers. Friendly management. We came in a 40' motorhome, and the place is generally not suited for this. We managed to park between 2 5th wheelers but it took a couple of attempts to get into possition. When sliding out the sides we were overhanging the "neighbourghs proporty" indicated by a line laid down in the gravel.

We didn't actually stay at this campground. We tryed to make a booking over the Internet, but here it said that 40' RV's could not be accomodated and we, therefore, had to find an alternative site. On the 18th of November 2008 we then went to see the campground, and it appears that around 30 aites will in fact take a 40' RV. The on-site ranger had in her possession a campground map that showed a large number of sites with length 40' or more. The "trick" is to know which of the sites that will take your 40' RV and then book it despite it saying f.x. 32' only. The ranger told us that you will not be turned away as long as your rig will fit in the space you have booked. It sounds like someone in the reservation office need an ungent update. Apart from this, the park looked in mint condition and we would have liked to stay there.
